Barbed wire fence around Rohingya camps soon: Army chief
A probe committee, led by a brigadier general, has been formed to investigate the incidents.
The government has assigned Bangladesh Army to set up a barbed wire fence around the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar.
"The fence will help secure the camps and the movement of the Rohingyas will be controlled as many of them are trying to flee the camps and even the country," Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed said in a reunion programme at the Armoured Corps Centre and School in Bogura Cantonment this morning.
When asked about the recent allegation of rape in Rohingya camp, the army chief said, "A probe committee, led by a brigadier general, has been formed to investigate the incidents."
Around 12 lakh Rohingyas fled to Bangladesh from the neighbouring Myanmar. They are currently staying at makeshift camps in Cox's Bazar. Many of the Rohingyas are illegally moving to different parts of Bangladesh.
