Job Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of Shelter & WASH - Coordinator, conduct needs assessments, verification, and data collection to identify cases for shelter & WASH, emergency and innovation program in refugee camps and host communities with a prior orientation through kobo collect and other designed tools.
- WASH Assistant-HP will be responsible for carrying out the WASH activities mostly hygiene behaviour changes programming through session, campaign and including supporting Community WASH Volunteers, supporting community water management committees with quality standards.
- Support in implementation/rehabilitation and construction of the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) component/Program and technical monitoring.
- Assist with the implementation of Shelter & WASH, emergency, and innovation program activities according to the plan of action, promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
- Support and organise distribution, follow-up construction and BNF sensitisation session
- Provide technical support with capacity building to volunteers to conduct HP and sensitise other sessions/training/orientation with BNF and progress sharing with line manager.
- Supervise distributions, monitor loading and offloading of shelter/wash materials and verify materials meet technical specifications.
- Provide direction, assigns tasks, and give instructions to daily workers/volunteers and monitor the progress with quality of delivery and ensure the implementation according to plan.
- Take part in the mobilization of refugee and host communities for awareness campaigns and for conducting research using focus group discussions, interviews, and questionnaires.
- Conduct outreach activities within the camps and serve as a link between NRC programs and the local community, ensuring their input into shelter/wash programme activities.
- Establish excellent relations with beneficiaries including understanding the needs of beneficiaries through regular visits and frequent contact.
- Perform any other task as requested by the line manager or senior management as per needs.
- Ensure timely completion of project activities according to the weekly and monthly plans.
- Prepare payment sheets for enumerators and hygiene volunteers from the community.
- Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in public health or any other medical field or technical background with a vast promotional activity
Experience Requirements: 2 to 3 year(s)
Additional Requirements
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in humanitarian/recovery context
- Good knowledge of the refugee context in Bangladesh
- Knowledge and experience within a relevant administration, WASH, or technical field and ideally a relevant community mobilization qualification
- Capacity building experience and physical experience in the refugee context is highly encouraged to apply.
- Experience with RANAS and CCLTHS approach community sensitization.
- Professional fluency in the Bangla language (ability to communicate in the Chittagonian dialect), Knowledge of the Burmese language is an asset
- Prior experience with local or international NGOs in support of refugee populations is an asset.
- Information management with raw/field data and documentation with final data will be added value to the position.
- Knowledge of the software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to maintain smooth, clear, and professional communication with the beneficiaries
- Professional communication skills in dealing with external partners and internal departments at NRC
Job Location: Cox's Bazar (Ukhia)
