Switzerland has topped the Best Countries 2020 ranking for the fourth year in a row while Bangladesh was not found on the list.

Canada came up second in the ranking of 73 countries while Japan is the only Asian country that secured its position among the top 10.

Among Asian countries, China is in 15th position, India in 25th and Myanmar in 57th.

The ranking was released by US News and World Report, a media company based in Washington.

Best Countries is a ranking, news and analysis project created to capture how countries are perceived on a global scale.

The report and rankings are based on how global perceptions define countries in terms of a number of qualitative characteristics, impressions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and investment and directly affect national economies.

The rankings evaluate 73 countries across 24 rankings drawn from a survey of more than 20,000 global citizens, measuring 75 dimensions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and investment and directly affect national economies.

The report evaluated the countries on 65 different metrics. It surveyed more than 20,000 people in America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Although Switzerland took the crown of the Best Country overall, other countries were also ranked first in different sub-rankings.

Some of the sub-rankings are -- adventure, citizenship, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, heritage, movers, open for business, power and quality of life.

For example, the US scored first in influence and power sub-ranking but ended up in the 7th position of the overall best country ranking.
