Trump's two-day visit is expected to scale up bilateral ties between the two countries, though a big announcement of a trade deal is not expected

United States president Donald Trump started his two-day India visit on Monday.

Trump is also accompanied by daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration are expected to get a taste of India's cultural, reported the Hindustan Times. After being received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a warm hug at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport in Ahmedabad, Trump covered the 22-km roadshow on his way to the at Motera stadium in his presidential car, "The Beast."

Trump will be flying to Agra immediately after attending the rally so that he and First Lady Melania Trump can spend about an hour at the Taj Mahal before sunset.

The delegation is then scheduled to fly to Delhi where Trump and PM Modi will hold talks on Tuesday.

US president Donald Trump has arrived at the Taj Mahal. The 17th centruy monument has been refurbished to welcome Trump and his family.

They will spend about an hour to catch the sunset from the famed mausoleum built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died in 1631.

Amid tight security, US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a 22-km roadshow in Ahmedabad. After a brief stopover at Sabarmati Ashram, the Trumps and the Prime Minister headed to the Motera stadium.

Motera: The stadium that will host Donald Trump

The Motera stadium will officially open for business today when US President Donald Trump inaugurates the venue on the banks of the Sabarmati.

The Sardar Patel Stadium -- or Motera, as it is simply known -- was first built in 1982 when the state government of Gujarat donated 50 acres of land for its construction. So far, Motera has held one T20I (Pakistan's final international on Indian soil, played back in 2012), 12 Test matches and 24 ODIs -- the last of which, between India and Sri Lanka in November 2014, was also the final game it hosted before it closed for reconstruction.

During the visit, Trump and Melania also tried their hands on the khadi spinning wheel, also knwon as "Charkha." Melania also helped Trump in weaving khadi on charkha.
