'Bangladesh coronavirus reaches local transmission level'
The total number of coronavirus infected persons in the country has now risen to 14 as of Wednesday
The coronavirus in Bangladesh has spread to the level of local transmission the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said.
IEDCR Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said at a press briefing in the capital today, denying any epidemiological evidence of community transmission, reported Somoy TV.
Earlier, the Health Minister Zahid Malik said the coronavirus in the country has spread to the level of community transmission.
He also said the number of coronavirus cases will rise in the country, Somoy TV reports.
Bangladesh today reported its first death from the novel coronavirus. The total number of coronavirus infected persons in the country has now risen to 14.
About 198,178 people around the world have been infected with the deadly virus and 7,954 deaths were reportedly globally till date.
