Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi observes its 44th anniversary by honouring 5 artistes

As part of its 44th anniversary celebration, Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi held a cultural evening and an award-giving ceremony at National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 27 November.
'Wrishiz Padak 2020' was awarded to 5 honorary personalities who have contributed profoundly in various sectors in the cultural arena, read a press release.
The program which was organised on Friday afternoon, showcased Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque as the chief guest of the programme while Barrister Biplob Barua, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Office Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, was the special guest.
This year, Wrishiz awarded Raisul Islam Asad for acting, Khurshid Alam for music, Actress Sujata for film, Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay in recitation and Nawazish Ali Khan in media.
The cultural segment of the programme featured performances by renowned cultural organisations, Satyen Sen Shilpi Gosthi, artistes of Swabhumi and Anandan, Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi, and many more.
The event was presided by Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi president, Fakir Alamgir. In order to honour the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, the whole programme was dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The program started with the national anthem and then the artistes performed the chorus "Amra Wrishiz Kori."
