Tiktok stars charged with felony after bank robbery prank gone wrong
The brothers were charged with one felony count of false imprisonment effected by violence

Twin brothers, Alan and Alex Stokes are popular on Youtube as well as Tiktok with their signature prank videos. However, they are in troubled waters after an initial bank robbery prank went horribly wrong for the duo.
The brothers, both 23, were charged with one felony count of false imprisonment effected by violence, menace, fraud or deceit, and one misdemeanor count of falsely reporting an emergency.
As per District Attorney's statement, the duo had dressed in all black, wore ski masks and carried duffel bags full of cash to pretend that they had robbed a bank. And the two were filmed by their videographer till they ordered an Uber for their supposed escape.
Deadline reports, The Uber driver refused to drive the brothers. A bystander witnessing the incident believed the men were attempting to carjack the Uber driver after robbing a bank and called police.
After the police arrived, the Uber driver was held at gunpoint as police suspected even he was involved in the fake robbery. When they explained what went on, the police released them with a mere warning.
According to the D.A the brothers attempted the same prank only four hours later. They were dealt with an immediate police response.
D.A. Todd Spitzer said in a statement. "Instead, what they found was some kind of twisted attempt to gain more popularity on the internet by unnecessarily putting members of the public and police officers in danger. These were not pranks."
The brothers boast more than 25 million followers on TikTok under their @stokestwins handle and more than 4 million subscribers on YouTube.
If convicted the brothers could face a probable four year sentence in state prison.
