Coronavirus may have halted the "Mongol Shobhajatra" but it certainly could not stop the spirit of Bangladeshis from celebrating the Bengali New Year. Facebook pages, cultural organisations and bands came up with unique ideas to celebrate the festivity of the Bengali calendar.
During the shutdown, the audience can live stream or listen to their favourite celebrities on YouTube within the safe boundaries of their house. No need to go outside as the celebrities will come to your homepage of various social media channels to entertain you all day long through the festivity.

Eber Ghore Bohse Boishakhi Best: Online shopping platform "Swapno" released a song for Pohela Boishakh showcasing popular celebrities such as Bappa Majumder, Sumi, Kona, Raffa, Chonchol Chowdhury, Anika, Anisul Haque, Tanvin Swerty and Jannatul Piya. The celebrities urged the fans to celebrate the New Year through the safe shelter of their house. Through beautiful rhythms and lyrics, they urged the fans to draw alpona and put on their traditional attires to participate in selfie competition on Facebook. Together they sang for the Boishakh to come and rinse the darkness of evil so that we can be united again.

Anondoloke: Pohela Boishakh is incomplete without the songs of Rabindronath Tagore. Aajob records organised a panel of music artists to produce a powerful rendition of the song "Anondoloke." The song features many artists such as: Joy Shahriar, Sabbir Zaman, Kishore Das, Sabrina Rahman Badhon, Karishma Sanu Sovvota, Rehaan Rasul, Tumpa Khan, Sharoni Poddar, Riad Hasan, Badhon Sarker Puja, Zarin Tasnim Naumi, Sahos Mostafiz, Suhrid Swagata, Ketan Sheikh, Shuvasish Bhowmick and Rituraj Bhowmick.

Esho Hey Boishakh Ghore Ghore: Telecom giant Grameenphone organised a day-long event for the audience to live stream their favourite songs by the popular artists. The program features Bappa Majumder, Armeen Musa, Minar Rahman, Zohad Reza Chowdhury and Habib Wahid.
The program started with Bappa Majumder singing Sanjeeb Chowdhury's song "Amake Ondho Kore Diyechilo Chaadh" and" Kokhono Icche Hoy."
After Bappa Majumder, there is a series of artists lined up to entertain the audience, starting with Armeen Musa at 12:00-12:30 pm, followed by Minar Rahman from 5:00-5:30 pm. Nemesis vocalist Zohad Reza Chowdhury will live from 5:45 to 6:15pm. The daylong event will end with Habib Wahid's performance at 7:00pm.
Shironamhin's Pohela Boishakh single Cafeteria Periye: Popular band Shironamhin will release their latest song "Cafeteria Periye" on Pohela Boishakh. The song is a sequel to "Cafeteria," a track from their debut album "Jahaji". Guitarist Shishir Ahmed of the band Aurthohin appeared as a guest musician in the song. The song is about our memories of university life and we are happy to release it on Pohela Baishakh." The music video will soon be realeased on their Youtube channel.

Bakhshobondi Boishakh: Shadhona Cultural Cirlcle organised a live event titled, "Bakshonbondi Boishakh" to celebrate the beauty of art, music and recitation by eminent personalities to celebrate the joyous beginning of the Bengali New Year.
The event is organised by renowned dance artist Lubna Marium. Apart from Lubna the program features dance performance by Sweety Dash Chowdhury, Omit Chowdhury, Taskin Anha and many more.
Anusheh Anadil, Nirjhor Chowdhury, Tanzin Toma, Shimu De, Ashikur Rahman are seen singing in the video, among others. Netizens can watch the video on the official Facebook page of Shadhona.
Other cultural personalities such as Asaduzzaman Noor, Arash, Raha and Sayed Rashed Imam Tonmoy also participated in the program.
