Samsung launches Odyssey G9 gaming monitor

Samsung launched its Odyssey G7 gaming monitor earlier this month. Now, less than a month later the company has globally launched its next generation Odyssey G9 gaming monitor. The Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor was showcased alongside the Odyssey G7 monitor at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 back in January this year.

The newly launched Odyssey G9 gaming monitor comes with a futuristic design with a glossy white exterior and a 1000R curved display. On the specifications front, it comes with a gigantic 49-inch QLED curved display with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixel and an aspect ratio of 32:9. Samsung says that Odyssey G9 is the first Dual Quad High-Definition gaming monitor in the world. It comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz, a response time of just 1ms and a maximum brightness of 1000cd/m-square.

On the gaming front it offers G-SYNC compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro functionality and it offers a total of seven gaming modes, which includes Custom, FPS, RTS, RPG, AOS, Cinema and DCR. The Odyssey G9 also supports HRD10+ quality content, which enables it to deliver high-quality games and content. The newly launched monitor offers this experience by using the Quantum dot technology in tandem with the HDR1000 panel.

For connectivity, Samsung's Odyssey G9 gaming laptop has a 1.4(2 EA) display port, an HDMI 2.0(1EA) port, a USB3.0(1UP, 2DOWN) port and a headphone jack.

Samsung has not announced the price and availability of the Odyssey G9 gaming laptop yet. But the company has said that it will be available in the global markets starting June 2020.
