Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has asked maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No 3 as squally weather may affect the ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, said the BMD forecast.

Meanwhile, downpours that have started from August 2 across the country are likely to continue till August 7, predicts the Met office.

"Temperature will fall, sky will be cloudy and there will be rain," said the meteorologist.

Monsoon is fairly active over southern part of Bangladesh and less active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
