PM’s leadership helps minimise loss in cyclone Amphan: Hasan
The way the prime minister addressed natural disasters involving all in Bangladesh has become a rare example before the world
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the bold leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina contributed to minimising the loss and damage caused by cyclone Amphan.
"It was possible to minimise the loss and damage in cyclone Amphan due to the bold leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said.
Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary, made the remarks while speaking at a coronavirus safety gears distribution programme at AL president's Dhanmondi political office here.

He said once a disaster hits the country, the prime minister passes a sleepless night, and there was no exception when cyclone Amphan hit the country.
"The whole night, she (the premier) monitored the cyclone situation. And it was possible to minimise the loss and damage in the cyclone due to the bold leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Hasan said.
