Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 started this month. The formidable Jamuna Bank Dhaka Platoon is also playing this year. Most of the teams have already unveiled their theme songs online.
Keeping up with their slogan, Dhaka Platoon has come up with the title "Maath kaapabe Dhaka" for their theme song. The video song was posted on the team's official Facebook page as well as on the YouTube channel Boatman films.
The theme song has three segments containing different genres of music – one of them is rap featuring Old Dhaka's popular 'gully boy' Rana.
Rana Mridha, an impoverished youth apt in rapping, was discovered by Mahmud Hasan Tabeer, a student of the University of Dhaka. Rana was the vocal for a few rap songs which went viral throughout the social media platforms. He became the talk of the town for a while, appearing in several national and international news media.
Rana Mridha and Tabeer together performed the rap segment in Dhaka Platoon's theme song. The song was produced under the banner of Rain Cloud Digital Agency and Boatman films. It is already earning praise from listeners, being viewed by nearly seven lakh people on Facebook and YouTube. Written by Robiul Islam Jibon, the tune was done by Newaz Mahtab and Imon Chowdhuri.
Of the three-part song, the first part was sung by Muttaki Hasib and Newaz Mahtab. The kawali part was sung by Shammed Hasan. The last part was the rap, which was written by Tabeer. Pulak Adhikari was also present as a guest vocal.
The music video was shot in various locations in Dhaka, which took four days in total. Sajal and Hridi Shek danced to the music in the video produced by Fazle Rabbi Mridha.
