Three insurance companies have declared dividends for their shareholders for the year that ended on 31 December 2020.

Karnaphuli Insurance Company Ltd, Central Insurance Company Limited, and Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd made the announcement at their board meetings last week.

Karnaphuli Insurance has recommended a 10% cash dividend.

To secure approval for the declared dividend, an audited report, and other matters, the company will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on 26 August 2021. The record date for the AGM will be 27 June.

According to the financial report 2020, the net profit of the company was Tk7.19 crore, which was Tk4.93 crore in the previous year.

During the period, its earnings per share were Tk1.60 and net asset value per share was Tk18.82.

Consequently, Central Insurance has recommended a 13.5% dividend – 6% cash and 7.5% stock.

To secure approval for the declared dividend, an audited report, and other matters, the company will hold an AGM on 29 July 2021. The record date for the AGM will be 17 June.

According to the financial report 2020, the net profit of the company was Tk10.78 crore.

During the period, its earnings per share were Tk2.18 and net asset value per share was Tk25.02.

Besides, Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd has recommended a 12% cash dividend.

To secure approval for the declared dividend, an audited report, and other matters, the company will hold an AGM on 14 July 2021. The record date for the AGM will be 14 June.

According to the financial report 2020, the net profit of the company was Tk6.75 crore.

During the period, its earnings per share were Tk1.25 and net asset value per share was Tk18.65.
