Dhaka stocks soar in recovery efforts

Dhaka Stock Excahange (DSE) opened today in a recovery attempt to overcome Monday's record breaking correction and soared 1.8% or 75.16 points to settle at 4231.48 by the end of the session.
Throughout the trading stocks prices signalled green as trading for partial recovery continues amid signs of banks' buying appetite under a special 5 year scheme initiated by the central bank.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, reached Tk422.51 crore at the country's premier bourse (DSE) as the session ended.
Of the total traded issues today, 270 advanced while 40 companies declined and 44 remained unchanged on DSE trading floor.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), is up 2.05 percent to reach 4241.69 points in the first one and a half hours of trading.
However, DSE key index gained 3.7 percent on Tuesday to recover previous day's 6.5 percent loss following the announcement of three coronavirus cases detection in Bangladesh.
