Stocks open positive amid low turnover

Turnover fell 20 percent to Tk385.27 crore during the early hours of trading today

Indices of the country's two main bourses posted gains amid selling pressure as risk-averse investors opted for quick-profits on selective shares.

However, turnover fell 20 percent to Tk385.27 crore during the early hours of trading today.

After the first one-and-half-hour of trading, Dhaka Stock Exchange's key index (DSEX) went up 7.65 points, while the CSE All-Share Price Index (CASPI) of the port city bourse climbed 45 points to stand at 12,934.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, upturned 0.16% to stand at 4,540 points till the report was filed at 11.30am.

Moreover, the blue-chip index DS30 rose by 2.48 points to reach at 1,546, and the Shariah-based DSES index gained 4.95 points to stand at 1,068. 

Today at DSE, a total of 351 issues were traded while 158 increased, 132 declined and 61 remained unchanged.
