Equity indices of the stock exchanges reported upward trends amid soaring DSE turnover in the early hour of the trading session on Wednesday.

During the first hour, DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.99 % or 52.56 points to 5,333.

Turnover, a major indicator of the market, on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) trading floor surged by 52% to Tk300.12 crore till 11:00 am.

Beximco Limited led the turnover chart at DSE, followed by Robi and Asia Pacific Insurance.

Out of the 303 issues traded during the same time frame, DSE had 196 gainers against 33 losers, while prices of 74 scrips remained unchanged.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) increased by 121 points to 15,383.
