Stocks edge up at opening
British American Tobacco secured the top position in the turnover chart with trading value of Tk36.86 crore
Indices of the both stock exchanges witnessed an upward trend in the first one-and-half hour trading session on Thursday.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose by 0.88% or 49 points to settle at 5,631 till 11:30 am.
During this session, DSE turnover rose by 6% to Tk270.11 crore.

British American Tobacco secured the top position in the turnover chart with trading value of Tk36.86 crore. During the session, it's share price rose by 4.87% to Tk1,676.50 each.
Moreover, DSE shariah index DSES gained 0.54% to 1,257 points and the blue-chip index DS30 rose 1.21% to 2,162 points.
During this session, 165 companies share price rose, while 64 issues fell and 103 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 116 points to 16,282 till 11:30 am.
