Stocks down amid low turnover

Indices of the both stock exchanges witnessed downward trend in the first one-and-half hour trading session on Sunday.

DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped by 0.66% or 37.62 points to settle at 5,610 till 11:30 am.

During this session, DSE turnover fell by 8% to Tk248.76 crore.

British American Tobacco secured the top position in the turnover chart with trading value of Tk36.60 crore.

Moreover, DSE Shariah index DSES lost 0.65% to 1,252 points and the blue-chip index DS30 fell 1.19% to 2,147 points.

During this session, 85 companies share price rose, while 150 issues fell and 187 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) fell by 79 points to 16,252 till 11:30 am.
