Nepali delegation visits Dhaka Stock Exchange

A delegation comprised of Finance Committee of House of Representatives of Nepal and Securities Board of Nepal visited Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, February 13 as part of their learning activities.
The delegation was led by the committee's president Krishna Prasad Dahal, met with the DSE management.
"DSE demutualized in 2013, bringing a drastic change in the management," said DSE Managing Director Kazi Sanaul Hoq welcoming the delegation.
"DSE does not have many companies listed, however number of investors is much higher. Currently DSE is an equity based market, however we are working to bring variations into our offerings. Already a separate board has been formed for small medium and enterprises (SME)."
Deputy-Managing Director of Product & Market Development Syed Al Amin Rahman, Chief Regulatory Officer (In charge) Md Abdul Latif, Chief Technology Officer Md Ziaul Karim and General Manager and Company Secretary Mohammad Asadur Rahman showed the delegation the future activities of DSE, listing process, trade and surveillance system, IT platform, stock dealers and brokers through various presentations.
Later, the chief financial officer of the DSE and the chief management officer answered the delegation's various questions.
General Manager (Human Resources and Administration) Md Shamul Islam and Deputy General Manager Md Shafiqur Rahman were present during meeting along other senior DSE officials.
