Indices fall over sales pressure

Following three consecutive sessions of gain, the indices of both stock markets decreased in the first one and half hour of today's trading session due to some profit booking efforts.
Subsequently, turnover on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) trading floor increased 20 percent to Tk 724.38 crore till 11:30 am.
During the early session, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 19.84 points – or 0.40 percent - and reached 4,839.
The Shariah-based DSES index lost 3.56 points to settle at 1,106, and the blue-chip index DS30 fell by 5.73 points and stood at 1,634.
Out of the 355 issues traded in the same time frame, 156 company's share prices advanced, 175 declined, and 24 remained unchanged.
Moreover, the benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) fell by 5.24 points to close at 13,850.
