Shimanto Bank celebrates Women’s Day
Shimanto Bank is a schedule commercial bank in Bangladesh
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2020, Shimanto Bank Ltd arranged a programme with all the female officers of the bank recently, said a press release. Professor Dr Shireen Afroz from Dhaka Shishu Hospital was the chief guest of the programme.
Muklesur Rahman, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, were also present on the ceremony with the bank's senior officials, the press release added.
Shimanto Bank is a schedule commercial bank in Bangladesh. The bank was founded to provide financial services to the paramilitary Border Guards Bangladesh members and is run by the paramilitary.
Bangladesh Bank accorded banking license to Shimanto Bank Ltd on July 21, 2016, recognising it as a full-fledged scheduled commercial bank with paid-up capital of Tk4,000 million. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the bank on September 1, 2016.
Major General Aziz Ahmed was the founder of the bank while Chairman Brigadier General Taufiqul Hasan Siddiquee was the project director and Moklesur Rahman was the first managing director and CEO.
The bank was designed to provide financial services to the marginalised population of the country, as well as, active and retired personnel of Border Guards Bangladesh.
