The Bangladesh Railway has earned around TK4.5 lakh in revenue by transporting agricultural goods through a special parcel train service since May 1.

The railway is currently providing the special service in three routes – Chattogram to Sarishabari, Dhaka to Bhairab Bazar and Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Railway Station (Panchagarh) to Dhaka.

These trains have been transporting agricultural goods such as vegetables and other essential commodities since May 1. So far, the special trains have delivered around five lakh kilograms of vegetables and other agricultural goods.

Passenger train services remain halted since March 24 due to the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
