No tax on imports of sanitizer, masks until 30 June
A notice signed by NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem declared the time extension on Thursday
The National Board of Revenue has extended the time of tax exemption for six months for importing raw materials to produce sanitizer, N-95 and KN-95 masks, face shields, Covid test kits and personal protective equipment.
Imports of such products will have no import duty, regulatory duty, supplementary duty, value added tax, advance tax and advance income tax on them until 30 June.
The NBR issued a circular in October announcing tax relief on these products until 31 December, in the wake of a spread of the novel coronavirus in the country and exports of the items.
A notice signed by NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem declared the time extension on Thursday.
The materials that come under tax exemption also include protective spectacles and goggles, nose protector clip mask, breathing appliances and gas mask.
