Bank accounts of Rajib, Habib and Jubo League Vice Chairman Arman frozen

The bank accounts of Dhaka North City Corporation ward councillors Taraquzzaman Rajib and Habibur Rahman along with those of their families were frozen by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) today (Tuesday).

In an order released today, the NBR said, "The bank accounts of Habib's wife Moni Rahman and Rajib's wife Rashna Hossain Panshi have been frozen."

The national tax collector has also frozen the bank accounts of Jubo League Vice Chairman Enamul Haque Arman.

The NBR has asked banks to confirm the freezing of the accounts as soon as possible.

The NBR sought all information about the bank accounts of Awami League MP from Narayanganj Nazrul Islam Babu and his wife Sayema Afroze, and Babu's business organisations Suchana Dyeing and Printing Ltd, M/S Star Trading Co, M/S Babu Enterprise as well as M/S Suchana Dyeing, Printing and Weaving Industries.

The NBR also asked banks to provide all information about the accounts of Jubo League's expelled organising secretary of Dhaka city south unit Md Abdul Wadud and his wife Farida Wadud, Jubo League central leader Kazi Anisur Rahman and his wife Sumi Rahman, and Anisur Rahman's business firms Maa Filling Station and Arefin Enterprise.

The NBR also directed the banks to provide information about Md Enamul Haque, Manzur Hossain, Zaid Ahmed, Shafiul Alam Feroz and Joy Kumar Shil. No further information was available on these people.
