Major General Md Nazrul Islam new Bepza executive chairman

Major General Md Nazrul Islam took over as the executive chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) on Monday.
He replaced Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, who recently was appointed the military secretary to the president, reads a press release.
Before joining the Bepza, Major General Nazrul was the general officer commanding (GOC) of the 66th Infantry Division at Rangpur Cantonment. Prior to that, he served as the area commander of logistics at Dhaka Cantonment.
He had also commanded one Artillery Brigade at Cumilla Cantonment.
In his illustrious service life, Major General Nazrul served in the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), the Armed Forces Division and the Military Secretariat branch at the military headquarters.
His military career spanned over command, staff, and instructional appointments. He had commanded three artillery units.
Moreover, he served at the United Nations mission in Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Major General Nazrul was awarded the prestigious Sena Parodorshita Padak in 2020 for his dynamic leadership.
