FBCCI president emphasises research to diversify export-oriented products

FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin emphasised on Bangladesh doing more research and evaluation on product export diversification to cope up with the Malaysian Market. 

The trade body chief made the call while discussing at the courtesy call on meeting with Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BMCCI) President Raquib Mohammad Fakhrul along with the Board of Directors, reads a press release.

The BMCCI president submitted some important points in a memorandum to the FBCCI president for consideration. 

The BMCCI president proposed undertaking an initiative to sign FTA with Malaysia by ensuring Bangladesh's interest which has been a long pending issue.

He also asked for initiative to promote relocating Malaysian Sun-set Industries to Bangladesh, to make close connectivity between Chittagong and Penang Port; to organize events on Trade & Investment opportunity in Bangladesh on a regular basis, etc.

The FBCCI President gave a patient hearing and assured to provide all possible support for development of trade and investment opportunities in Bangladesh and Malaysia. He thanked the BMCCI Leaders for their appreciable role in promoting bi-lateral relationships between the two countries. He proposed to further sit together with FBCCI, BMCCI and other concerned stakeholders with all required data to discuss more and precisely on the proposed FTA between Bangladesh and Malaysia. During the discussion, FBCCI Vice President Md Habib Ullah Dawn, and Director Syed Moazzem Hossain and Director Syed Almas Kabir took part enthusiastically.

From the BMCCI Board, Secretary General Mahbubul Alam, Treasurer Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, Directors Jamilur Rahman, Rubaiyat Ahsan, Engr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri were present at the meeting.
