Dhaka Bank crowned as ADB’s Leading Partner Bank in Bangladesh for 2024
Dhaka Bank PLC has been recognised as the Leading Partner Bank in Bangladesh by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the 2024 Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) Awards.
This achievement is particularly significant as it comes during the 10th anniversary of the TSCFP Awards.
Dhaka Bank's Deputy Managing Director, Mr Akhlaqur Rahman, and Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Sahabub Alam Khan, received the award. They accepted the honour from Mr. Steven Beck, Head of Trade and Supply Chain Finance at ADB, and Ms. Neha Noronha, Unit Head, South Asia, at a ceremony in Singapore. The event was attended by more than 200 representatives from ADB's partner banks and financial institutions.
Dhaka Bank earned this accolade by being the most active partner bank in Bangladesh, supporting the highest number of international trade transactions in collaboration with ADB during the last fiscal year. Since 2009, Dhaka Bank has been an issuing bank under ADB's TSCFP program, using this platform to facilitate and grow international trade for its Corporate and SME clients, significantly contributing to Bangladesh's economic progress.
Currently, 87 banks from developing member countries in Asia and the Pacific participate in the TSCFP program, including 16 from Bangladesh.
This prestigious award reaffirms Dhaka Bank's commitment to its global partners, including ADB, and underscores its leading role in international trade finance. It also reflects the bank's dedication to delivering on its motto of "Excellence in Banking."
The bank extends its heartfelt gratitude to ADB for their continued trust and support, both in Dhaka Bank and in fostering economic growth within Bangladesh.
