Sonali Bank hands over relics of Bangabandhu to defense secretary
Bangabandhu opened the first account of Sonali Bank Limited in the bank’s Gonobhaban Branch

On the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, an initiative has been undertaken to preserve all of his relics in his office at the Ministry of Defense, henceforth known as "Bangabandhu Memorial Museum."
As part of the initiative, Sonali Bank Limited handed over some relics to Md Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal, ndc, the Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital, according to a press release.
Sonali Bank CEO and Managing Director, Ataur Rahman officially handed over a rare photograph of Bangabandhu, which was taken when he launched the very first bank account at Sonali Bank's Gonobhaban branch; the account opening form and a card bearing Bangabandhu's signature.
Defense Ministry Secretary, Md Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal spoke about Bangabandhu's life, his patriotism and his historical contribution.
Ataur Rahman called upon everyone to follow the example of the Father of the Nation.
Sonali Bank has carefully preserved all relics since that time.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Mahmud-Ul-Hoque, and other senior officials of Sonali Bank and its Ganobhaban branch were in attendance.
