Prime Bank distributes blankets among cold-hit people in Narail
The blankets were distributed among underprivileged people in Narail Sadar and Lohagara Upazila
As a cold spell hits the country, Prime Bank Limited is standing beside the cold-affected people of Narail.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the bank recently distributed blankets among the underprivileged people of Narail Sadar and Lohagara Upazila – the electoral constituency of national cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, MP – read a press release on Friday.
Mashrafe's father, Golam Mortaza, alongside Narail Zilla Parishad Chairman Advocate Sohrab Hossain Biswas and Mashrafe's uncle, Nahidur Rahman, formally distributed the blankets in Aladatpur, Narail town on Thursday.
Prime Bank's Jessore branch manager Md Abdur Raafi was also present at the distribution ceremony along with local dignitaries, it added.
Meanwhile, the bank has already donated 100,000 blankets to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to help underprivileged people during the winter, the press release noted.
Commenting on the CSR initiative, Acting Managing Director and CEO of Prime Bank Faisal Rahman said, "Prime Bank always comes forward to help the less fortunate people of the country in their time of need. We think this little initiative will help hundreds of people to safely spend the winter with their families. We will continue to assist the people below the poverty line with our social welfare programmes."
