Padma Bank launches agent banking outlet in Khulna Sadar

Padma Bank launched an agent banking outlet in Khulna Sadar under its Khulna branch on Monday.
Dr Hasan Taher Imam, vice chairman of the bank inaugurated the outlet as the chief guest of the virtual ceremony, according to a press release.
Also, Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury Padma Bank's managing director (Current Charge) of the bank and Dr Hafizur Rahman, CEO, Master Agent (EDCABS Ltd.) joined the virtual event as special guests.
Customers will be able to deposit West Power Zone electricity bills, bus and plane tickets, and Indian visa fees apart from regular banking facilities through this outlet, it added.
This is Padma Bank's second agent banking outlet. In July, the fourth generation Padma Bank started its first agent banking activities in Akahlia under Amdia union of Narsingdi.
Faisal Ahmed said the private commercial bank is fast moving towards full blown digitisation. It has launched agent banking services as part of its plan to extend banking services to unbanked customers in every district and Upazila of the country.
Customers can avail various services from the outlet including opening a new account, receiving remittances, depositing and withdrawing cash, paying different utility bills, transferring funds, receiving mini-statements, accessing internet banking facilities, paying insurance premiums, etc.
Zabed Amin, SEVP and head of business; M Ahsan Ullah Khan, SEVP and head of the Human Resources Division; Muhammad Zakaria Karim, head of Agent Banking; as well as high officials of the divisions attended the launch.
