Mercantile Bank donates Tk5 lakh to Assistance for Blind Children

Mercantile Bank Foundation has donated Tk5 lakh to the Assistance for Blind Children (ABC), a dedicated organisation to change the livelihood status of the visually impaired children.

Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, managing director of the bank recently handed over the donation cheque to Md Akhterul Alam, general secretary of ABC at the bank's head office in the capital, said a media statement.

AKM Shaheed Reza, chairman of Mercantile Bank Foundation, presided over the programme.

Md Anwarul Haque, chairman of Executive Committee and Risk Management Committee; and MA Khan Belal, chairman of Mercantile Bank Securities Limited; also joined the event.

Mati Ul Hasan, the bank's additional managing director; Gaus-Ul-Wara Md Mortaza, Md Zakir Hossain, Adil Raihan, Shamim Ahmed and Hasne Alam, deputy managing directors; Sanjay Ranjan Kar, executive director, also joined the event among others.
