Md Nazrul Islam becomes executive director of BB

Bangladesh Bank General Manager, Md Nazrul Islam has been promoted to the Executive Director of the central bank on Sunday.

Nazrul Islam previously performed duty in Barishal unit of Bangladesh Bank, Inspection Department of the central office, foreign exchange inspection department, Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department and Bangladesh Financing Intelligence unit.

He was also former Assistant Managing Director (Acting) and Managing Director of the Security Printing Corporation Bangladesh and ex-Managing Director of Foreign Exchange Investment Department and Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department.

He visited Australia, France, Malaysia, Dubai, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India and Philippines for official purpose.

Md Nazrul received his BSC (honours) degree from Bangladesh Agriculture University in Mymensingh in 1993. Later, he secured honours degree in Government and Politics and MBA degree in Banking and Finance. Md Nazrul was born in a Muslim family of Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali.
