Brac Bank named 'SME Bank of the Year - Asia'
Brac Bank has won this accolade for the second consecutive year.
Brac Bank has received the Global SME Finance Awards in the Silver category of SME Bank of the Year – Asia.
This is the second consecutive year that Brac Bank has been awarded with this accolade. Last year the bank won the SME Bank of the Year – Asia in Platinum category, said a press release issued by the company.
In addition, this year Brac bank received an honorable mention in the 'Best Bank for Women Entrepreneurs' category in the award program.
According to the press release, IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and the SME Finance Forum jointly organised the 2020 Global SME Finance Awards on a virtual platform. The names of the winners were announced on Tuesday.
Regarding the award, Syed Abdul Momen, Brac Bank's head of SME banking, said, "We are humbled and proud to accept this award, one that sets the bar for recognising excellence in SME banking. The challenges of 2020 have necessitated even higher levels of service quality, innovative thinking, and partnership— all towards the singular goal of access to finance and financial inclusion."
The bank's managing director and CEO, Selim RF Hussain, said, "Our SME team has delivered yet again, and this award is an acknowledgment of their tireless efforts and strive for excellence. With its network of 456 SME unit offices, Brac Bank's focus has always been on SMEs and it will remain there for a long time."
The Global SME Finance Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of financial institutions and fintech companies in delivering exceptional products and services to their SME clients.
