Ahmed Jamal replaces deputy governor SM Moniruzzaman
The government has appointed Bangladesh Bank deputy governor Ahmed Jamal as a member of Board of Directors of the central bank and also a member its executive committee for the next three years.
Financial institution division of the finance ministry on Sunday issued a notification in this regard, said a press release.
With the appointment of Ahmed Jamal, the Bangladesh Bank got seven directors. Central bank governor Fazle Kabir is the chairman of the board of directors.
Ahmed Jamal replaces deputy governor SM Moniruzzaman as his contractual appointment expired on 31 December last year.
Jamal was appointed as the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank on 1 March 2018 to 30 June 2023.
Joining at Bangladesh Bank in 1984, Ahmed Jamal Served in various departments.
He had completed his B Com (Hons) and M com in Accounting from Rajshahi University.
He also achieved Post Graduate Diploma in Bank Management from Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management. He is a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.
