Third wartime bomb found at under-construction airport terminal in Dhaka
The bomb was taken to a safe place for dismantling
The authorities of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport discovered a 250-kilogram bomb for the third time at the third terminal of the airport on Saturday morning.
Acting on information, the bomb disposal unit of Air Force's Bangabandhu Base rushed to the spot to defuse the general purpose bomb, according to the airport's authorities.
Later, the bomb was taken to a safe place for dismantling with necessary precautions.
Like the previous bombs found at the airport terminal, bomb experts believe that the bomb was dropped sometime during the Liberation War in 1971.
On 9 December, construction workers found a cylinder-like bomb, weighing around 250 kilograms at the construction site of the airport for the first time. Later on 14 December, another 250-kg wartime bomb was discovered from the same site.
