157 stranded Bangladeshis return from Australia on special chartered flight
All passengers were notified to carry up-to-date Covid-19 symptom-free or Covid-19 negative certificate issued within three days before departure, the press release said.
A total of 157 Bangladeshi passengers, who were stranded in Australia due to the Covid-19 pandemic, have departed Melbourne for Dhaka on a special Sri Lankan Airlines flight on Friday.
According to a press release issued by Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra, these passengers were stranded in Australia due to the ban on international flights amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
All passengers were notified to carry up-to-date Covid-19 symptom-free or Covid-19 negative certificate issued within three days before departure, the press release said.
The flight will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:40 am on Saturday, after a stopover at Colombo.
The High Commission of Bangladesh in Canberra facilitated the return with support from authorities of Bangladesh and Australia and with active cooperation from the Victorian Bangladeshi Community Foundation (VBCF) and Melton Travel Center.
