The US Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders urged the Trump administration to relax the sanctions in the crisis of coronavirus pandemic saying "It has caused suffering and death to Iranians."
He said this in a tweet on 31st March adressing the US secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin saying: "Pandemics know no borders. Let us put aside our countries' disputes and lift sanctions to reduce human suffering."
As the coronavirus outbreak continues in Iran, in a joint letter spearheaded by the US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-CortezUS, 32 lawmakers including Sanders demanded economic relief to Iran.
It urged Donald Trump to immediately relax inhuman US sanctions which are making it harder for people Iran to obtain vital medicines, medical equipment, and protective gear for healthcare.
