Veteran lawyer Akramuzzaman dies of Covid-19

Advocate Akramuzzaman, also a freedom fighter, died from coronavirus infection in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital early Sunday.

The 75-year-old lawyer was the public prosecutor at Feni Judge Court.

Akramuzzaman, who was the Feni district Awami League president, tested positive for Covid-19 after being admitted to the CMH on June 19. There he died on Sunday morning.

PM mourns his death

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Akramuzzaman.

In a condolence message, the primer said, "Akramuzzaman will live in people's hearts as a leader of them." She also prayed for his departed soul.
