Upazila administrative officer dies of Covid-19 in Khulna

Khulna Dighalia Upazila Administrative Officer Golam Sarwar Khan, 58, has died of Covid-19 at Khulna Sadar Hospital's Flu Corner at 6am Monday.

Dighalia Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Dipankar Das confirmed the matter.

KM Sadiq Hasan Sunny, son of the late Golam Sarwar Khan, said that on July 4, his father Golam Sarwar Khan's coronavirus report came positive. He died at the Flu Corner of Khulna Sadar Hospital while undergoing treatment.

With this, a total of 34 people died in Khulna due to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, another man named Imam Hossain Bachchu, 55, died with coronavirus like symptoms. He died at the isolation ward of Khulna Medical College Hospital around 11am on Monday. Bachchu was the son of Syed Altaf Hossain of Rayermahal in the city.

Khulna Medical College Hospital Resident Medical Officer and Flu Corner spokesman Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed said, "Bachchu was admitted to the coronavirus isolation ward of the hospital with cold and fever. His samples have been collected for corona testing."
