After the first coronavirus patient was identified in Dampara on April 3, the number of Covid-19 cases in Chattogram has reached to 3,193

UNO tests positive as number of Covid-19 cases cross 3,000 in Ctg

Some 208 people, including the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Rangunia, four police officials and several physicians, have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Chattogram on Monday.

Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed about the diagnosis result of Rangunia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Masudur Rahman.

According to civil surgeon office, on Monday, 153 samples were tested at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) lab and 212 were tested at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) lab in Fouzdarhat.

Respectively, 58 and 47 people tested positive for Covid-19.

Besides, Chattogram Medical College lab tested 261 samples, of which 101 tested positive.

Moreover, two people from Chattogram tested Covid-19 positive at Cox's Bazar Medical College laboratory.

After the first coronavirus patient was identified in Dampara on April 3, the number of Covid-19 cases in Chattogram has reached to 3,193.

So far, 79 people died of the disease in Chattogram.
