Earlier, constable Jasim Uddin of wari division police died with coronavirus which was the first death caused by coronavirus among the members of Bangladesh police

Two more members of Bangladesh Police have died from the novel coronavirus infection in the capital today.

The deceased are - Assistant Sub-Iinspector (ASI) Abdul Khalek (36) of police order management (PMO)  and Traffic Constable Ashek Mahmud (42) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (north division).

Abdul Malek, Joint Commissioner of PMO said, "After ASI Abdul Khalek started to show initial symptoms of Covid-19, we kept him in isoletion at a hotel of Arambag area and later he tested positive."

However, he died this morning while living in isolation.

Badrul Hassan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Traffic north division, confirmed to The Business Standard that Constable Ashek Mahmud has also died from Covid-19 at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital (CPH).

Earlier, Jasim Uddin, a constable of wari division police, died with coronavirus on April 28. It was the first death reported due to coronavirus infection among the members of Bangladesh police force.
