Six officials of the BCS (Admin) cadre have so far tested positive for coronavirus, says Public Administration Secretary Sheikh Yusuf Harun.

On Sunday, he said three of the officials are from Narayanganj while one each is from Gazipur and Bhairab in Kishoreganj and the other one is Counsellor (Labour) of Bangladesh Mission in Jeddah.

The secretary said the infected officials are being given highest treatment.

Besides, those who have come in contact with them have been sent on quarantine, he said.

Harun said field-level officials have been directed to remain alert while working.

Earlier, Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission Jalal Saifur Rahman, a 22nd BCS admin cadre, died from coronavirus on April 6.
