As of Friday, 3,574 policemen - including some senior officials – have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Among the infected, one is an additional deputy inspector general, eight are superintendents of police (SP), 19 additional SPs, 20 assistant SPs, 97 inspectors, 486 sub-inspectors, and 481 assistant sub-inspectors, said a press release issued by the Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, strong measures have been taken to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus among police personnel. Besides, enough equipment has been installed at police hospitals to make sure proper treatment of the infected. Some private hospitals have been rented as well.
This is the reason why the number of new infections is less than the previous days while the number of recovery increases, the press release further says.
