Rajshahi Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial park is manufacturing 1,200 litres of hand sanitizer daily.

A press release from industry ministry said this on Saturday.

"Rajshahi BSCIC industrial park is leading in the production of disinfectant hand sanitizers. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in the country, BSCIC industrial parks have continued to produce a wide range of essential medicines and medical supplies, including disinfectant hand sanitizers," said the press release.

Team Pharmaceutical Limited, a pharmaceutical company based in the industrial city, has been producing 12,000 to 15,000 bottles of hand sanitizer in 100 ml sizes every day, as per the press release.

The hand sanitizers are being supplied to different districts, upazilas and even union levels.

Besides, the company is also producing 10,000 packets of various life-saving drugs with a market value of around Tk50 lakh.

"Workers in industrial factories are producing products following hygiene rules and maintaining social distance. Factories are playing an important role to keep the supply chain normal," said Zafar Bayezid, deputy general manager of Rajshahi BSCIC.

"Under the direction of the government, BSCIC is providing all possible support to the manufacturing, transportation and supply chains of the factories," he added.

Rajshahi industrial park has currently employed around 10 thousand people both directly and indirectly.
