Prothom Alo special news editor Shawkat Hossain Masum returned to his residence on Saturday after recovering from the novel coronavirus.
He was undergoing treatment in the capital's Mugda General Hospital after being infected with the virus on April 20.
Seven other coronavirus patients along with Shawkat were released from the hospital today, reports Prothom Alo.
Rubina Yasmin, a physician of the hospital, said among the eight patients who were released today, one is the doctor of the hospital.
The hospital gave release to 13 Covid-19 patients as of Saturday after their recovery from the virus, she said, adding that another 300 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment and 4 patients died of the virus in the hospital.
