Police close a supermarket, 2 shops in Dhaka for breaching hygiene rules
The shops will be allowed to reopen when they follow proper health safety rules
The Police have shut down the capital's Bongo Bazar Super Market and two fashion outlets in Dhanmondi for not complying with the proper health hygiene rules amid the spread of coronavirus in the country.
"We shut down Bongo Bazar Super Market at 12 pm on Tuesday and asked them to reopen after making sure that they follow proper health hygiene," officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station Abul Hossain told The Business Standard.
Earlier in the morning, the law enforcement agency also shut down fashion brand Aranya and Vive in Dhanmondi for the same reason.
"We shut down the shopping malls that didn't set up a tunnel or spray entrance. We also noticed the hand sanitiser was inadequate," additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Dhanmondi Zone) Abdullahil Kafi said.
The shops will be allowed to reopen when they follow proper health hygiene, he added.
