The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the law enforcement agencies to strengthen surveillance to ensure security and maintain the law and order situation during the general holiday.
The Public Security Division under the home ministry on Saturday sent a letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in this regard.
The letter pointed out that offices, courts, stalls, shops, business institutions and almost all other institutions have remained closed due to the general holiday that has been extended to April 25. In this circumstances, securities should be beefed up at shopping malls, banks, ATM booths, jewellery shops, pharmacies, and residential areas to prevent any untoward situation.
Against this backdrop, the ministry asked the IGP to undertake necessary steps to enhance surveillance to keep the law and order situation normal.
