Hospitals to overflow with patients if people don't follow rules: Health Minister

If people are not more aware of the rate at which Covid-19 patients are increasing every day, then all the hospitals will be full of such patients. Therefore, the people of the country need to be more health conscious in dealing with coronavirus.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said this at a press briefing at the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning while bidding farewell to 10 delegates from China.
Besides, he mentioned the need to increase the budget to tackle Covid-19.

Responding to a question at the briefing, Zahid said, "If the rate of coronavirus infection continues to increase this way, 2,000 more new doctors will be recruited. Besides, recruitment of medical technologists is also underway. The government will take steps according to the coronavirus situation in future."
Commenting on the delegation's visit to Bangladesh, the health minister said, "The Chinese team is satisfied with Bangladesh's work in preventing Covid-19, but the delegation also informed the government that there is room for improvement in other areas for tackling the pandemic. We will work on the areas identified by them in the coming days."
Talking about test kits, he further said, "Kits are not available as per the demand. Because there is demand for kits in all the countries now. However, there should not be a shortage of stocks."
"If there is a crisis for any reason, the government should take measures to meet it quickly. There is no reason to worry about kits at the moment."
