Patuakhali’s Dumki upazila under lockdown after one dies of coronavirus

Authorities have put Patuakhali's Dumki upazila under lockdown from Friday.

Until further directives have been issued, no one will be allowed to enter or leave Dumki upazila.

A garments sector worker named Md Dualal Hawladar died of Covid-19 on Thursday afternoon, at his home, while under quarantine.

Md Dualal Hawladar, son of Abdus Sobhan Howlader, arrived in Dumki on April 4, from Narayanganj, after falling ill. He had problems with: breathing, diabetes, a cold, and sore throat. The district health administration collected his sample and sent it to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research while keeping Dulal in quarantine at his home.

The report of his sample arrived at the Patuakhali Civil Surgeon's Office on Thursday. It showed the presence of the coronavirus in his body. Dulal was buried according to coronavirus protocols.

Dumki upazila area has been locked down since the incident.
