Patient flees Barishal isolation unit
A 60-year-old Covid-19 on Saturday patient fled the isolation ward at the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
The patient is a resident of Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola.
SM Bakir Hossain, director of the hospital, said, "The patient was sent to the coronavirus unit from Bhola on May 15 after he had tested positive for the Covid-19."
Since then he was in isolation at the coronavirus unit. His health condition has improved in the last few days. For this reason, his sample was sent to the lab of the medical college for testing on Saturday morning. The report was not yet available, the director added.
SM Bakir also said, "This afternoon the nurse went to the patient's room and found the room empty. It is believed that the patient has fled away from the hospital."
The hospital authorities were preparing to file a general diary with Kotwali Model Police Station in this regard, he added.
